Awesome showing right now by photographer Dave Mead in the Chelsea Market, called Magnificent Specimens. I highly recommend taking a jaunt down if you’re in the New York City area. I blogged some of these images a while back, and then one day on my way into work I saw a few of the photographs on the walls and become gleefully suddenly, realizing that the series was being showcased in the market. What’s really great is that each photograph is perfectly interesting, the beards and mustaches are awesome, and there’s even a HUGE mustache built out of straws on one of the awnings inside. In addition to that, there’s a frame and mustache dangling from the ceiling inviting viewers to become participants of sorts in the exhibition, bidding them to stand behind the frame and mustache, and snap their own photos, becoming Magnificent Specimens, themselves. I love seeing these photos every day! You have to come check it out. Grab yourself a treat from the inside the Chelsea Market and wander around and enjoy this awesome exhibition.
